Care & Safety Guidelines
Because lighting ANYTHING can be dangerous, here are a few guideline we recommend you follow to get the best out of your wax melts & candles:
- Always store your candles in a cool, dry place.
- Place your candle on a solid surface, free of drafts when burning.
- THIS IS IMPORTANT! Before each burn, trim your wick to ¼”. This will help to provide an even burn, and a nice stable flame. Wicks that are left untrimmed can produce smoke and will burn too fast.
- Keep the candle wax free of debris & wick trimmings at all times.
- When burning the candle for the first time, allow it to burn fully to reach the edges of the container for a full melt pool (approx. 3-4 hrs). Wax has a memory, so this will prevent tunneling on the next burn, and allow for an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
- Allow your candle to cool completely before handling. Make sure to extinguish your candle before leaving home, or going to sleep.
- Burn the candle only until ¼” from the bottom of the container. Burning too close to the bottom of the container can cause overheating & shattering.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Store wax melts out of reach of children & pets, as they may appear and smell edible.
- When burning wax melts, use 1 melt at a time in small burner, or 2 melts in a medium to large burner.
- All wax melts will eventually lose scent after burning, and will need to be discarded. Once wax hardens, it can be easily popped out of the container. Putting in the freezer for 5 mins before discarding may make it easier to remove.
- DO NOT pour melted wax down the drain.
- ALWAYS keep candles and burners out of reach of children & pets.
